AJ's Search and Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit animal rescue based in Akron, Ohio founded in 2016. We rescue animals and search to find them a forever home. We are a foster based organization that takes homeless dogs and cats into our homes and provide them with proper medical care, food, shelter and love until they find their forever home and get adopted.

Our Mission

To Save Lives, One Paw at a Time! We provide temporary shelter to stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals for the purpose of finding them their forever homes.
We strive in getting the homeless animal population to decrease by spaying and neutering all of our animals before they continue their journey into their new home.

Dog of the month

Meet SamJamm! He is a 1 years old and Partially blind. Sam was given away to a neighbor by his original owner because they were moving at the end of the week. He was too much energy for the women's current older chihuahua. His foster noticed right away they something seemed off about his sight. He can see enough to avoid big object, but is mostly blind. He has picked up on the routine very quickly and know where his crate is and the doors to go outside. He gets along with the other dogs and loves to run and play with them! Looking for a home with a secure fenced in area where he can safely enjoy off leash romps and another dog to help show him the way and be best friends with. Crate trained working on house breaking and doing well.

Cat of the month

Meet Cleo! She is a females 2 yr old. Cleo was brought inside when found pregnant. She has raised her babies (all adopted) and is now ready for her furever home. She needs a nice quiet home with a person who is familiar with cats and willing to give her some time to settle in. She likes pets and loves to play with toys - is still uncomfortable being picked up, but can be done if needed. Litter box trained.
